2018 Women & Hi Tech Professional Development Scholarship

Candace Studebaker, Manager Special Programs, Science Central

For as long as she can remember, Candace has been interested in science and technology. While she holds a degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education from Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, she has also taught herself robotics, gaming, and computer programming. She has developed a proficiency in these topics, and now creates engaging curricula for the next generation of learners.

Candace is currently the Special Programs Manager at Science Central in Fort Wayne. After identifying a need in the community for technology-focused camps and programs, she developed week-long camps, covering a wide range of topics like Engineering Technology, Lego Robotics, and Introduction to Gaming. In addition, to ensure accessibility for these types of programs, she created tech-based Girl Scouts badges and curricula for homeschool-style learning. Candace’s captivating demeanor and strong technical curricula were critical to the engagement and success of students in these programs.
