“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Chevelle is a technology leader with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations leverage technology to improve operations, support business strategy, and drive transformation. Throughout her career, she has led enterprise applications, enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernization, digital transformation, data strategy, and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives in highly regulated industries.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Regis University. Chevelle also completed the Tobias Fellows executive leadership program through the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Since joining Wabash Valley Power Alliance in 2019, Chevelle has served as Director of Information Technology Applications. In this role, she leads a portfolio of more than 30 enterprise and operational technology applications that support 24/7 utility operations. Her responsibilities include enterprise applications strategy, ERP modernization, data and AI initiatives, governance, regulatory compliance, vendor management, and long-term technology planning. Chevelle works closely with business leaders and executive leadership to ensure their technology investments support organizational priorities, deliver business value, and position the organization for future success.
Before joining Wabash Valley Power Alliance, Chevelle held leadership and consulting roles with McKesson Specialty Health, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Sogeti USA, Appirio, and Emmis Communications. Across these organizations, she focused on enterprise systems, Salesforce strategy and governance, process improvement, and large-scale transformation initiatives. Those experiences have given her a broad perspective on how technology, people, and processes come together to create meaningful business outcomes.
In addition to her academic background, Chevelle has earned multiple professional certifications in Salesforce administration and consulting, agile leadership, and technology platforms. She continues to invest in executive and AI-focused education, including the UC Berkeley AI Business Applications and Strategies program, to stay current on emerging technologies and their practical application to business strategy and organizational performance.
Chevelle lives in Brownsburg and enjoys traveling, leadership development, and exploring emerging technology trends, particularly artificial intelligence and data strategy. She has traveled to four continents, visited 25 countries and 37 states, and has a personal goal of traveling to all seven continents and all 50 states. She is also an avid sports fan whose favorite college team is Notre Dame and favorite professional football team is the Indianapolis Colts. One of her personal goals is to visit every National Football League stadium, and she has visited seven so far. She values giving back to the community and serving as a role model and mentor for women of color pursuing leadership and technology careers. Chevelle also values lifelong learning, wellness, and meaningful community connections.
Chevelle realized the importance of organizations like Women and Hi Tech after spending years as one of the few women, and often one of the few women of color, in technology and utility industry leadership spaces. Having a strong network of women leaders who understand the unique challenges of leadership, visibility, and career growth is invaluable both personally and professionally.
In her role on the Women & Hi Tech Board of Directors, Chevelle hopes to help create stronger pathways, visibility, and support systems for women, particularly women of color who remain underrepresented in technology and the utility industry.
