"You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." — C.S. Lewis
Corissa McClammer is passionate about increasing access to STEM education and creating greater visibility for women and nontraditional students pursuing careers in science and technology. Corissa was recognized as the 2022 LLA Ivy Tech Scholarship recipient and was a Lilly Scholar in 2024. After winning the 2022 LLA scholarship, she became more passionate about women in STEM and became a member of Women & Hi Tech. Prior to joining the board, Corissa volunteered on the LLA and K-12 Outreach Committees.
Corissa earned her AAS in Biotechnology from Ivy Tech Community College in 2024 and completed her BS in Biotechnology at IU Indianapolis in 2025. She currently works as a Chemical Technologist at Corteva Agriscience, where she has been employed since 2026 as part of the Engineering SME Team, supporting separations, corrosion testing, and various other projects.
Prior to joining Corteva, Corissa served as a Laboratory Manager at Ivy Tech Community College for 4.5 years, supporting laboratory instruction, inventory management, safety procedures, and daily lab operations. Earlier in her career, she held management and operations roles in retail, purchasing, accounting, and small business environments, where she developed strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Corissa lives in Indianapolis and enjoys balancing science with creative outlets such as photography and art. She values continuous learning, personal growth, and community involvement, especially opportunities that encourage women and young students to explore STEM careers. Coming from a family of small business owners, she developed a strong work ethic and appreciation for entrepreneurship at an early age. Corissa is passionate about building meaningful connections, supporting others in their growth, and helping create more accessible pathways into STEM careers.
Growing up, Corissa did not realize science and technology were realistic career paths for her because she was not exposed to those opportunities early on and rarely saw women represented in STEM. Women & Hi Tech showed her the importance of mentorship, representation, and community, and helped her recognize how meaningful it is to create those opportunities for future generations.
Corissa’s goals on the board are to help expand mentorship, outreach, and STEM awareness opportunities for young women and nontraditional students who may not otherwise see themselves represented in science and technology careers.
