Due to demand, French Lick Resort has added additional capacity for the retreat!
Come network with Women & Hi Tech members and friends as we relax and re-energize at The French Lick Resort (frenchlick.com)! Founded in Indiana, this year marks Women & Hi Tech’s 20th anniversary as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and we have been “Celebrating Our Past and Investing in Our Future” all year! At the Fall Retreat, we will continue the celebration as we host a 1920’s-themed evening to welcome you Thursday to your overnight abode.
Arrive at the reception dressed in your own 1920’s flapper dress or Gatsby/gangster costume, get in the celebratory spirit, and join the fun as we pay tribute to two decades of Women & Hi Tech and the roaring '20s! You won’t want to miss the unique and treasured picture opportunities available at our vintage venue. Prizes for best dressed and other fun surprises will be available!
Friday starts off with activity or personal relaxation time prior to brunch. A powerful and inspiring professional development seminar will then be delivered to attendees by our keynote speaker, Paula López Reck (see bio below) before your safe return home.

Program: Finding My Life’s Place: Being a little bit of everything without being here, there or anywhere - by Paula López Reck
My life has been defined by being different and often, intentionally trying to go unnoticed. I have lived in two worlds, while striving to find and stay true to my authentic self. Consistently being told that I could be anything, but not too much. I could be in charge, but not too bossy. I could be confident, but not too assertive. I could be American, but not too Spanish.
For decades, I walked a tight rope; stuck between being too much of one thing and not enough of another. While this tightrope has seemingly limited me, the ability to balance, be flexible, to pivot, or completely realign has served me well throughout my STEM career, which has evolved into a marketing and consulting business. Easily able to integrate myself into different situations and understand the nuances within them, while still maintaining an external lens. Excelling as a “bridge” or a “connector” across teams and team members to better facilitate their communication. Being a fearless leader, a staunch supporter, or a fervent follower, as needed, to meet personal or professional goals or aspirations.
Join me as I share my journey from being a little bit of everything or anywhere to finding my place in life that empowered me to know, accept, and nurture my truly magnificent and imperfect self.
