Kayci Spandau is the Chair of the Leading Light Awards Committee for Women & Hi Tech, where she leads the strategy and project management of the Leading Light Awards and Scholarship Gala, designed to advance and support women in STEM and technology careers. With more than a decade of experience in marketing, brand management, and event leadership, she is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that foster connection, professional growth, and community impact.
Currently serving as Marketing Manager at McGuire Sponsel, Kayci oversees integrated marketing initiatives, brand strategy, and event execution for the national specialty tax consulting firm. Throughout her career, she has led marketing and event initiatives across multiple industries, including animal healthcare, technology, and professional services. Her background includes campaign strategy, sponsorship development, content marketing, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on building engaging, results-driven programs.
Kayci earned her bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Convention, and Event Management from Indiana University with a minor in Art History. Her work has been recognized through several industry honors, including the 2025 Authenticx Marketer of the Year award, the 2019 Vetty Award for the Consumer Galliprant Website, the 2018 Elanco President’s Club Marketing Award, the 2018 Neill P. Overman Award, and a 2014 MPI Event Planner of the Year nomination.
While attending a conference, Kayci met Joy Neely, who introduced her to Women & Hi Tech and the opportunity to help lead the Leading Light Awards and Scholarship Gala. Always eager for a new challenge, Kayci embraced the chance to plan her first gala and quickly found a community of passionate, supportive professionals. After three years as both a board member and active member, she continues to value the meaningful connections, advocacy, and professional development the organization provides.
Based in Greenwood, Indiana, Kayci enjoys spending time with her two energetic children, who keep life fun and full of adventure. She is also a proud dog mom to Marley, her six-year-old golden retriever rescue. Outside of work, she loves hiking, painting, crafting, discovering new restaurants, and listening to audiobooks.
Kayci’s goal for the organization is to raise awareness of Women & Hi Tech and celebrate all the amazing female leaders in the STEM industry, as well as those pursuing their dreams of a STEM career.
