"Lift as we climb.” — Mary Church Terrell
Mariah Brown is committed to bridging science and business. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Pre-Pharmacy from Jackson State University in 2019, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Butler University in 2023. In 2020, she joined Eli Lilly and Company as a scientist in the Talent Development Academy Leadership Development Program (TDA LDP), a rotational program spanning discovery to development. She transitioned into a Senior Chemist role, contributing to lab-based research, before joining the legal team as a manager focused on patent competitive intelligence and insights research. “What I enjoy most about my job is that it allows me to fulfill my ‘why’ by helping people,” she shares.
Mariah was drawn to Women & Hi Tech after seeing the organization actively hosting events aligned with its mission. She felt included from the very beginning and saw the opportunity to interact with and learn from a diverse group of women in STEM. During Mariah’s time as the K-12 director, she strived to make a lasting impact on the people she worked with, pushing herself and others passionate about K-12 to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth.
Mariah currently lives on the west side of Indianapolis and loves to spend time with her family and friends. An adventure-seeker at heart, she enjoys skydiving, exploring new cuisines, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and traveling whenever the opportunity arises.
