Joy is the Chief Commercial Officer at Medvantx. Her passion for Diversity and Inclusion and a commitment to advocating for gender parity and equity have been a thread throughout her entire professional career.
Before joining Medvantx, Joy worked as Senior Vice President of Sales at CareMetx. Previously she worked for Roche Diagnostics Corporation as a Market Access Development Leader from 2018-2020, where she also served as the Women's Leadership Initiative Co-Lead for Roche's Women's Leadership Business Resource Group. Joy previously worked as a Business Development Director at a Start-Up, TrialCard, out of Raleigh, North Carolina. There she was also engaged in their Women's Network. Most of Joy's professional career, 18 years, was spent at Lilly, USA, in various commercial roles spanning sales, sales leadership, business operations, marketing, market access, and Six Sigma.
Joy has been married to her husband Preston for 24 years. He is her partner, her cheerleader, and makes managing dual careers possible! He, too, is in the STEM field in medical device sales. They have two daughters. The oldest daughter, Maddie, is a junior at Butler University and is majoring in statistics, computer science, and Spanish. Their youngest daughter Lexi will be a freshman at Butler studying healthcare and entrepreneurship. She also competes regionally and nationally in CrossFit. They have lived in the Geist area for the past seven years. They enjoy spending time traveling, on the lake boating, and gathering around the fire pit with friends and family. Joy also enjoys reading, dining at local restaurants with friends, and volunteering. She also serves on the board for the Little Red Door.
Joy believes that we need to invest in our future leaders in STEM. As a mother of two daughters who are both on STEM paths, she gets excited about organizations that can give experiences and exposure to careers in STEM. Also, through serving on the Women & Hi Tech board, Joy has seen how the mission of "existing to change the landscape of women represented in STEM to be equally inclusive to all" has provided opportunities for women to network, develop, volunteer, and grow together. Joy is eager to start her term as the Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion Director. In this newly formed role, Joy will focus on driving board and membership engagement as well as ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion strategies are being implemented and visible to our sponsors and community stakeholders.
